This 14,000-square-foot, three-story facility includes coaches’ offices, a locker room, an athletic training room, a classroom, and a terrace overlooking Lemmons Family Field.
The center is home to the university’s and teams. The football team makes use of 130 custom-made wooden lockers, and all use the facility's state-of-the-art weight training room.
The building also houses the school's historic Victory Bell, rung for every touchdown at home football games. Duke’s terrace overlooking the field serves as VIP seating for members of the university's Terrace Club, allowing for a bird’s-eye view of the action.
The Duke Athletic Center is named for philanthropists Marilyn and John Duke, whose generous donation of $2.5 million made the building possible.
