Nursing FAQ

Application and Admittance

Admission to the nursing program is competitive. You must complete all prerequisite courses and post a grade of “C” or higher in each of them. Even then, meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission into the program. The admissions committee selects from 麻豆社 Fox University applicants first, and any remaining positions are then filled by transfer students. The number and quality of the applicants determine the competitiveness of the applicant pool.

The College of Nursing understands that student nurses may need to work during the semester to afford essential items. The amount of hours a student may work each week and succeed academically varies from student to student. If a student must work during the semester, the College of Nursing strongly recommends student nurses work 16 hours or less per week. If a student struggles academically and is at risk for failing a course, the student's academic advisor will strongly encourage the student to reduce weekly work hours. Students who need financial assistance should meet with a staff member in the 麻豆社 Fox University Office of Financial Aid.

麻豆社 Fox University is a liberal arts university. As such, we believe in a well-rounded education that incorporates courses in the sciences, history, communication, physical education, religion, and psychology – all taught within a Christian college environment where faith is integrated with learning. In the nursing program itself, you’ll not only receive training to address patients’ physical needs, you will also learn the importance that psychosocial and spiritual aspects play in overall health.

Outside the Classroom

We have a few opportunities for our nursing students to serve and lead – through the Nursing Club, as nursing ambassadors, and as nursing class representatives. The purpose of each is to provide members and peers with an opportunity to foster intellectual, educational, spiritual, and social activities related to professional nursing.

Access to transportation, (i.e. personal vehicle or carpool) is necessary during the nursing program for the clinical experiences.
