Course Scheduling

The following resources may pertain more to department chairpersons or program directors as they build class schedules for future academic 麻豆社/years.

Course Scheduling Calendar

For most programs, 麻豆社 Fox builds course schedules approximately one year in advance of the course offerings. This process includes each academic department developing faculty loads, creating a working course schedule that fits within the university's scheduling paradigm, submitting the schedule to the registrar's office for entry, and finally, student advising and registration.

Traditional undergraduate classes meet on the Newberg campus and adhere to the university's “block” schedule (see below). All Newberg campus classes share submission deadlines, and all classes offered at regional sites or online have their own set of submission deadlines.

The university establishes certain holidays as “blackout dates,” meaning no in-person or synchronous online class meetings may be scheduled at those times.

Newberg Campus Class Block Schedule

Traditional undergraduate classes on the Newberg campus are generally scheduled within the approved “block” schedule, which is made up of proscribed meeting patterns, including days of the week and start and end times.

These blocks are set to allow the flexibility needed for students to complete all graduation requirements, to make best use of our classroom and facility resources, and to give students optimum opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities.

Course Schedule Submission Template

Because the registrar's office processes more than 1,500 class requests per semester, it’s imperative that departments use the appropriate class schedule submission form to ensure that all information is correctly transmitted.

Schedules submitted without these forms or with incomplete information will be returned for correction, which may result in a loss of optimum room assignments.

Initial Submissions

Please fill out the spreadsheet completely. Questions about class schedule submissions can be directed to your enrollment manager for Accelerated Online and graduate programs, and to the associate registrar for traditional undergraduate programs.

Schedule Changes

Once your initial semester schedule has been submitted, please use the online class schedule change form to request changes. Questions about class schedule changes can be directed to your enrollment manager. Please use the form listed below.
